Youth Ministry Intern

We are currently seeking a Youth Ministry Intern to help grow our Youth Ministry of 7th-12th grade students. This individual should be pursuing a degree in ministry or education-related field. Some experience in youth ministry is preferred, but not required.

This is a part-time position requiring approximately 10 hours per week. There are set hours of Wednesday evenings from 7:00pm-8:30pm and Sunday mornings from 8:00am-12:00pm, as well as flexible hours in evenings and weekends to meet with students outside of specific meeting times.

We have some possibilities for a student to stay in a congregant's home if they have no children. For a family, we will assist you in finding housing near the church.

College Hill Presbyterian Church honors God by growing a diverse community of Jesus-followers. You will help pursue this vision by growing a diverse youth ministry.
What is the make-up of the church and the surrounding community?
College Hill Presbyterian Church is in an urban neighborhood of Cincinnati, Ohio. We seek to be a growing, diverse community of Jesus followers. Our membership of approximately 300 is 66% white and 33% African American. Weekly attendance at Youth Ministry activities is approximately 10 students.
What are your top 2 strengths and growth areas as a church?
1. Involvement in the community through tutoring, outreach, housing families experiencing homelessness, and active global outreach.
2. We have pursued and moved positively from a homogeneous congregation to a multi-ethnic congregation. The neighborhood is 55% Black and 42% White (non-Hispanic) and the church is 66% White 35% Black 1%Other.

Drew has been pastoring in Presbyterian Churches since 1991. He has served in a variety of mostly urban settings seeking to lead churches to engage in issues of the city - racial reconciliation, poverty, justice, and community development. He and Cathy have 3 adult children. He enjoys hiking, sports, and other outdoor activities.
