This course forms the first half of an introduction to the language of biblical Greek. When combined with the Greek II course, students will have the foundation to begin reading biblical texts, the aim of our Greek III course. In Greek I, students will learn the basics of the alphabet, pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary. Additionally, students will learn about the important historical and cultural backgrounds that led to a Jewish faith being communicated in the language of conquering nations.
